PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES AS A BUSINESS LAWYER
2014
Given his multi-disciplinary activities with regard to international and European law as well as arbitration, Jochen BAUERREIS has been recognised as a specialist in “International law and the law of the European Union” as well as in “Arbitration law”.
2013
In addition to his role as General Secretary to the French Registrar of the European Court of Arbitration (CEA), Jochen BAUERREIS was appointed as the General Secretary of the International Registrar of the CEA.
2012 – 2016
Jochen BAUERREIS was appointed as the General Secretary of the French Executive Committee, acting on behalf of the French National Chapter of the CEA. In this capacity, he also sits as a director of the board of directors of the CEA.

Jochen BAUERREIS was appointed as an expert for the French Delegation of the Council of European Bars (CCBE) as part of the Committee of European Private law.
Jochen BAUERREIS was named Vice President of the European Economic Interest Group ALISTER AVOCATS, in charge of international relations.
2009
Jochen BAUERREIS was one of the founders and is managing partner of the law firm AVOCATS BAUERREIS CHEVALIER INTERNATIONAL (ABCI) RECHTSANWALTSGESELLSCHAFT MBH with its registered office in Kehl, Germany. As a representative of the ABCI ALISTER law firms (ABCI SELARL and ABCI GMBH), he also acts as a director of the ALISTER AVOCATS Economic Interest Group as well as a member of the board of directors of ALISTER AVOCATS AARPI.
Furthermore, he is an active member of the international team within ALISTER AVOCATS AARPI.
2008
Due to his expertise in private international business law as well as European company law, Jochen BAUERREIS has been recognised as a lawyer specialising in “the law of international relations”.
2007
Jochen BAUERREIS was appointed as manager of the European Economic Interest Group SCHRADE INTERNATIONAL EWIV in his capacity as representative of the firm ABCI SELARL.
2006
Jochen BAUERREIS was the founding lawyer and is managing partner of the law firm ABC INTERNATIONAL SELARL (ABCI SELARL) with its registered office in Strasbourg-Oberhausbergen with affiliated offices in Paris, Lyon and Marseille.
2005
In addition to his registration as a German lawyer in 2001, Jochen BAUERREIS was sworn in as a French lawyer before the Strasbourg bar in 2005.

Jochen BAUERREIS was sworn in as a German lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) before the Freiburg bar (Germany) in July 2001 and joined the business law firm SCHRADE & PARTNER RECHTSANWÄLTE in Freiburg until 2005.

Jochen BAUERREIS was appointed as an honorary professor (Honorarprofessor) of the Albert-Ludwig de Freiburg University where he teaches French private and business law at the Law Faculty as part of the “Französische Rechtsschule”.
2006
Given his Franco-German profile, Jochen BAUERREIS joined the “Frankreich-Zentrum” (FZ) institution of the Albert-Ludwig University in Freiburg (Germany) as an associate member.
2004 – 2008
Alongside his role as a teacher and researcher at the Law Faculty of Strasbourg University, Jochen BAUERREIS was placed in charge of French private law and business law at the Albert-Ludwig University in Freiburg (Germany).
2003
Due to his various publications in Franco-German international business law, Jochen BAUERREIS was appointed to direct research (HDR) at the Law Faculty of the University of Strasbourg.
2001
Jochen BAUERREIS was appointed lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Political Sciences and Management of Strasbourg University, in charge of Franco-German international business law studies. He was also appointed a director of the Franco-German business lawyers Masters course.
1999 – 2001
Jochen BAUERREIS was an assistant lecturer and researcher at the Law Faculty of Strasbourg University (1999-2000) as well as a temporary lecturer and research assistant (2001).

UNIVERSITY STUDIES
2001
Jochen BAUERREIS obtained the second State examination in law (Zweites Juristisches Staatsexamen) with distinction (voll befriedigend).
2000
After having worked on doctoral studies since 1998, Jochen BAUERREIS presented his thesis on the subject “Das französische Rechtsinstitut der action directe und seine Bedeutung in internationalen Vertragsketten” (“The mechanism for direct action and its role in chains of international contracts”) on 23 February 2000 at Freiburg before a Franco-German jury.
He received a very honourable distinction with congratulations from the jury and “summa cum laude”. This thesis was awarded with the “Carl von Rotteck” prize given by the Freiburg University Law Faculty on 18 October 2000 as well as the “Lower Rhine General Council Prize” awarded by the Law Faculty of the University of Strasbourg on 5 December 2000.
1998
Jochen BAUERREIS accompanied his German law studies with detailed studies of French business law which he completed in September 1998 when obtaining a Diploma of detailed studies (D.E.A.) in business law with distinction (mark: 16/20) and top of the year in 1997/98 and a prizewinner of the Strasbourg University Law Faculty.
1992 – 1997
After university studies in languages and classical and modern civilisations, Jochen BAUERREIS undertook law studies at Erlangen-Nürnberg University (1992-1994) and Freiburg University (1994-1997). He completed his university studies in Feruary 1997 when obtaining the first State Law Examination (Erstes Juristisches Staatsexamen) with distinction (mark: 13.74/18) and top of the year for Baden-Württemberg. In the autumn of 1996, he was the best student at the Law Faculty of Freiburg (1st of 1621 candidates).
1988 – 1992
After having passed the German high school examinations (Abitur) with distinction (mark: 1.0), Jochen BAUERREIS read classical and modern languages at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany). He did his Masters in French, Latin and Spanish in December 1992 (M.A. with distinction). Furthemore, Jochen BAUERREIS has a certificate of aptitude in Spanish (higher level II) which he received with distinction (“sobresaliente”) after attending a language course in Salamanca in Spain in 1991.
